The Zoo at Somosomo Strait

The "Zoo" dive site is located on the Rainbow Reef in Somosomo Strait, immediately adjacent to the world famous "Great White Wall". This is a barrier reef that follows the contours of Vanua Levu's old shoreline.

The dive begins deep, with a descent over the reef's coral wall. A gray reef shark, fusiliers, and yellow-tailed barracuda are seen along this wall. After cruising a good 10 minutes, you ascend up to 20 meters, where you linger for a good remainder of the dive. This intermediate zone is mostly coral rubble. The dive ends in the shallows of a beautiful hard coral garden grotto.
