Thank you Diane :-) Yes - we (Ikayzo) were hired by Rob to design and build the new social media version of Fiji Guide. Right now we are migrating the original content and tomorrow we will be adding a ton of new content. The public launch is next Tues. We plan to continually add content and features.
See you in the groups and forums!

Bula Dianne
Compliments of the Season to you!! Thanks for inviting me to your group! Yes, I too hope that the forum can raise more interest as it used to! It seemed to get spammed a lot which would have put people off and the whole site was in need of an update, which it now has.
I seem to remember you're Canadian. (I'm in Australia). We're visiting Vancouver in July/Aug 2010.
Meanwhile my wife Robyn and I stayed at Octopus Resort in the Yasawas 3 years running but missed out this year because we have bought a beach house on the surfcoast in Victoria. However we have decided to take 10 days break shortly and may go back to Fiji. It's so sad what's happened there on the political front and the country's economy must be almost in crisis.
Anyway Dianne, great to hear from you and stay in touch.
Regards

Hi Bruce,
Nice to hear from you. I really miss the old Fijiguide forum. I spent so much time on it, but yes you are right, the porn spammers overtook it. This is wonderful....it feels like a family reunion for me. Although I haven't been to Fiji since 2000 I have been participating in any of Rob's forum and website ventures. What would we do without him?! Thank goodness, his passion persists. I was fortunate to meet and host Mr. Fiji (Jerry Bounds) here in Vancouver and he will be a life long friend of mine. I don't feel like I can contribute much to the forum these days as I haven't been to Fiji since 2000, although that's where my heart seems to be much of the time. I look forward to participating as much as I can.
Thanks for re-connecting. Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones.
Diane

Great to see the old names again! I'm still managing time in Fiji every year but have been sticking to the Western side in recent years. Have a Merry Christmas!

Bula Diane,
Looks like you hail from BC - are you caught up in all the Olympic excitement?
Hi Scott,
Yes, I live in North Van and Olympic fever is here although I feel far removed from it. The weather is such a huge disappointment....if only it had been last year! One of my daughters works for Tourism Vancouver and is in the thick of things and loving every minute of it. The traffic nightmare has never materialized and we are enjoying light traffic. I think many people left town to avoid the congestion. So tell me about your Fiji experiences? I haven't been back for 9 years and would jump on the next plane in a heartbeat. I am off to Barbados for two weeks in November. A friend gave me two round trip tickets on his airmiles and so I am going with another daughter. I have rented a cottage two blocks from the beach for $300 US a week and we used to pay almost that a night. It's not Fiji but at least it will be warm, unlike hear in November which is so wet and gray. I've kept in touch with Rob Kay over the years and Mr. Fiji (Jerry Bounds) who now lives in Raki Raki came to visit me a couple of years ago. I've developed some great friendships through mutual love of Fiji.
Thanks for your message!
