Fiji Islands storm watch--Tropical Cyclone Evan Bears down on Fiji

Fijiguide.com received this note from Inua Tabua of Exclusively Fiji, a local tour operator:

All guests have been evacuated from island resorts off Nadi and are in alternative accommodation in Denerau and Nadi airport hotels

Those who plan to visit Fiji should defer their arrivals for the next few days at least. There's no way to know how much damage the cyclone could wreak on properties so stay tuned to determine if it's wise to plan your trip.

The airlines are not flying today although they have advised resumption of services tomorrow. Resumption of service will depend on what damage is potentially sustained to the airport once the cyclone passes through Nadi later today.

Note the latest update on TC Evan (above). As you will read, this cyclone is directly hitting us today. It is a Category 4 severe cyclone. We are anticipating major damage.

All we can do now is sit tight and hope for the best.  Vinaka vaka levu in advance for your patience, understanding and support.

I am praying for everyone on the islands to be safe. God bless each and every one. God and his angels have his arms wrapped around these islands. He knows how much we can stand. Stay in faith and trust in God. I Love You all from my heart.
