Evidently this fellow got skunked on his last trip to Fiji.  No waves.  Not the case this time. He's a happy camper.

As always and big vinaka to Stu and Malia of Fijisurfco for coming up with such great…

Kon Tiki Part Part II--An homage to Bengt and Marie-Therese Danielsson

This blog series started with a review of the Academy Award nominated Kon Tiki movie which I saw recently at the Hawaii International Film Festival Spring Showcase.

My interest in seeing the film  not only revolved around the epic Kon Tiki story.

As a young…

Kon Tiki--A film worth seeing

For obvious reasons, I normally adhere to Fijiguide.com’s policy of only discussing Fiji themes.

However, I’m going to make an exception.

I saw a film the other day at the Hawaii International Film Festival Spring…

Cloudbreak Shangri-La

Picture

Picture

On April 6th Cloudbreak witnessed a 6 foot, 16 second swell. Those who were there called it "the beast 666." No, it wasn’t an apparition from the depths--on the contrary it was more Shangri-La at Fiji’s most famous wave.

Fresh off the boat (after a brief respite in Hawaii) Stu Johnson was back plying the waterway between Viti Levu and the reef at…
