I have been getting reports regarding cyclone damage (from operators in the hardest hit areas), and I'm happy to say that most damage has been confined to areas more shallow than 20'. There some staghorn and table corals have been upturned or broken, but most reefs have weathered the storm well and the vast majority of areas reported on are still great dives! One benefit of the storm seems to be that while visibility is down plenty of nutrients have been stirred up and the marine life is abounding!
Hi, Scott....it just occurred to me that you may not be aware that Joan Moody (Namena Island) passed away last week. They're always closed in March & April. As far as I know, they'll reopen in May as planned.....Collin
I had just heard, but thanks for letting me know. I was very surprised and sorry to hear. I guess she was just closing up the resort and Tom was already stateside? I'll get in touch with her daughter and send my condolences...
